what to ask for, and what you still need to decide.
01 / FOUNDERS
Is this a market you can sell to?
A list of companies is not market validation. First check whether a small sample matches the offer you can actually deliver.
Bring three decisions
- Your offer
- What you sell, who can use it, and the constraints on delivery.
- The buyer
- Business type and geography. Be explicit about manufacturers versus distributors.
- The exclusions
- Existing accounts, unsuitable business models and markets you cannot serve.
Start with a bounded request
Illustrative brief for a precision-parts supplier. Replace it with your actual offer.
THE REVIEW / THREE SAMPLE RECORDS
Own-brand filling-equipment manufacturer
Its product page describes equipment it makes. That supports the company-type requirement, not a claim that it outsources components.
- Next question
- Who handles component-supplier qualification?
Distributor of third-party equipment
Reselling machines does not meet the own-brand manufacturing requirement. Apply this exclusion to the rest of the list.
Mixed manufacturer and reseller
Ask for evidence of the manufacturing division before preparing outreach.
Fictional record types, not returned company results.
Do the first records reflect the intended buyer? If not, correct the rule before increasing the count. A fit decision does not prove purchasing intent.
Customer-search procedure ↗02 / MARKETING
Can the same offer survive three channels?
Start with the claim your product specialist approves. Review complete deliverables, not a set of disconnected slogans.
Prepare the brief
Supply the approved offer, audience, product facts and source material. Ask for a complete website passage, an email and one social post.
The correction that matters
The specialist confirms: only final drawings can be reviewed. Ask for the full revised versions, with provisional-drawing claims removed everywhere.
Fictional supplier and demonstration copy, not a published campaign.
REVISED WEBSITE PASSAGE / COMPLETE EXAMPLE
Before you request a machined-parts quote
Send the final drawing, material and expected quantity together. Identify the dimensions and tolerances that are critical to the part's function, and say whether the request is for a prototype or repeat production.
We review final drawings before preparing a quotation. If a dimension is still provisional, finalize it before requesting the review.
A useful enquiry might say: “Aluminium housing, 20 prototype units. The bearing bore is the critical dimension. The attached final drawing is revision C.”
Send the drawing version that matches your note. We will use the review to identify missing information before quoting.
Inspect all three revised deliverables ↗Does each finished version make the same approved offer? Check claims and channel destination before publishing. The draft itself is not evidence that anything was posted.
Channel-review procedure ↗03 / SALES
What do you know before you write?
A relevant account, a reachable recipient and a reason to contact are three separate decisions. Keep the gaps visible.
Bring the account context
- The selected company's product page or retained research.
- The offer you can make to that company.
- Any real prior conversation, including objections and stop requests.
Keep the handoff explicit
If the buying role is unknown, leave the recipient unresolved. Research the role before treating the draft as send-ready.

- Component supplier qualification for your filling equipment
Hello,
We make aluminium and stainless-steel parts to customer drawings in small repeat batches. Your website lists your own-brand filling equipment.
Is component-supplier qualification handled centrally or by equipment line? I can send our capability sheet to the appropriate person.
Which route would you recommend?

Confirm the company fact, recipient and offer. Only then review the sender and authorize the specific action. A missing reply is not permission for unlimited follow-ups.
