Worked example · mailbox test. This page provides a test message and a hypothetical result to practice interpreting. It does not report a completed send, a customer campaign or a delivery rate.
Prepare one recognizable message to an inbox you own
Connect Zoho Mail in Integrations and identify the sender account. The email workflow guide explains draft review and sending. Use another inbox you control as the destination. Replace the bracketed fields below and give this test a unique label so an older message cannot be mistaken for the new one.
From: [your connected Zoho address]
To: [your second inbox address]
Subject: Afield mailbox check — [unique test label]This is my mailbox connection test.
Test label: [the same unique test label]
I am checking the selected sender, the destination address and whether this complete message can be read in the receiving inbox.
No reply is needed.
Prepare this message as a draft using my connected Zoho mailbox.
Keep the recipient, subject and test label exactly as supplied. Do not send yet.
Review the actual draft and sender before approving that one message. Leave the test label in both the subject and body.
Read the destination, then decide what the result means
After a send, inspect the provider result and open the receiving inbox. Match sender, recipient, subject, test label and body. If the destination is connected to Afield, name that account in the read request; otherwise open it in the mailbox provider.
In my receiving inbox [account], look for "Afield mailbox check — [label]".
Open the matching message and show its sender, recipient, subject, time
and body. Do not send or reply.
Practice scenario: the sender returns a successful send response with a message identifier, but the destination search finds no matching message. The following is an example decision note, not a real provider receipt.
State: Send acknowledged; receipt at the destination is unconfirmed.
What is known: The sending service accepted this message.
What is missing: A matching message in the intended receiving inbox.
Next action: Check the destination address, search scope and spam folder, then inspect the sender's sent message. Do not immediately send a duplicate.
Continue from the evidence you actually have
A matching received message completes this mailbox check. If only the draft exists, the task is still at preparation. If the provider returns an error or no usable receipt, retain that result and investigate before retrying.
Once the connection works, use a real incoming conversation for the next task: read a buyer's question and prepare a reply. Check the message and recipient before authorizing the next send.
